About

I am a PhD candidate in Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Sieber Lab. My research focuses on constructing carbon–carbon bonds via umpolung strategies, developing innovative methods that invert traditional reactivity to access molecules that are challenging to synthesize. I aim to combine efficient, sustainable chemical strategies with practical applications, advancing both fundamental understanding and real-world impact.
Alongside my doctoral studies, I serve in the United States Air Force National Guard, where I have honed leadership, project management, and organizational skills that complement my work in research and mentorship. My dual role as a service member and scientist informs my approach to teamwork, problem-solving, and guiding others toward success.
I am deeply committed to fostering inclusion and representation in STEM, leveraging my experiences as a first-generation PhD student and active service member to mentor and empower others. Through leadership roles in professional organizations, I have organized workshops, outreach events, and mentorship initiatives that connect students with resources, guidance, and inspiration to pursue careers in science.
